Landmark College has added a new feature to Canvas that lets you search your courses for specific content. You can access search from a particular course or from the global navigation. Searching finds results from Canvas pages, files, external pages, assignments and other types of course content. Search results display the title of an item, a snippet of the text where the search was found and an indication showing the type of item. To narrow a search, put quotes around search terms to match them precisely. Broaden results by using the asterisk to do a wildcard search. You can filter search results to specific semesters, types of content, and choose between relevance and recency. Using the Search icon in the Global Navigation searches all courses in which you've been enrolled. Using the Search box at the top of the screen while you're in a course limits the search to that particular course. Search returns results based on your role in Canvas. Students are shown results from published items that they can access in their courses. Instructors get results from all content in their courses, whether they're published or not. All courses are re-indexed daily, but instructions have the ability to request an immediate re-indexing on demand. We hope this makes your Canvas experience more convenient.
